This large scale project, titled Chronicles of the Second War: Tides of Darkness, intends to not only remaster both original campaigns, but also add Warcraft 3 hero design and sidequests, as well as tying together story elements from World of Warcraft and the background books. Once such dream is coming to life, as Warcraft 2 is being remade and remastered by an ambitious group of fans from the Hive Workshop.

Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, originally released in 1994, has been “fully optimized to run out-of-the-box on today’s operating systems,” according to an announcement from GOG.com. The release of those games comes just weeks after Blizzard and GOG teamed up to re-release the original Diablo for modern computers. Blizzard Entertainment’s classic real-time strategy games Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and Warcraft 2 Edition are now available for purchase through GOG.com.
